Cubism, futurism, hyperrealism, abstractism, pop art, photographic realism... The different art form, its reflection and presentation, are all psychological perspectives caused by social changes during a specific period of time; it is the artist's exploration of artistic expression, enriching the aesthetic experience, and widening the visual representation. However, the lack of artistic standards and excessive personalization can lead to the phenomenon of the creation of both good and bad artworks.

However, the lack of artistic standards and excessive personalization can lead to the phenomenon of the creation of both good and bad artworks.

The content of artworks often reflect the status and progress of society. This presentation embodies the contemporary attitude. The impact of Western art on the world is enormous. In terms of its style and form, now more than ever before, equals the sum of both Chinese art forms and styles. This quantity is largely derived from the liberation of art forms and expressions. Different values are presented in contemporary artworks, and the difference can lead to varying evaluation results. Western art is known for the exploration from different perspectives, and the resulting presentation was the different art movements. It has explored every possibility, and now its breadth and depth has reached an uncomparable state and quantity.

According to a 2015 publication of the “TOP 200 COLLECTORS” list by global art media ARTnews, 13 of the top collectors were from China, including Chen Taiming, Zheng Zhigang, Huang Chongren, Liu Luanxiong, Zuo, Qiao Zhibing, Wang Jianlin, Liu Yiqian and Wang Wei, Wang Zhongjun, Yang Bin, and Yu Deyao. This list compiles data from the most active consumers in the past year, goods purchased include luxury goods, banking services, finance, electronics, IT and those from other emerging industries. Among the list, the largest percentage of 78% was from the purchase of contemporary art.

Charles S Moffett of Sotheby's argues that the top quality which distinguished the new generation of active art consumers from the older generations is the availability of excellent teams of art advisors. The advisor team can greatly help reduce the risk and regret after an unjustified purchase. London art dealer Thomas Gibson believes that the reason behind the choice by Western collectors to purchase contemporary art is because these works are more discernible.

Because consumers rely on the ear rather than the eyes, hence albeit the difference between the art choices of affluent Chinese and Western collectors are closely related to the variance in their upbringings and the preferred art styles in each society, we are seeing more and more Chinese collectors accepting and experimenting with different cultures. In this process, aside from time, they need a mentor.
