The noble mademoiselles of the Bund of Shanghai experienced carefree childhoods, international exchanges in their youth, harsh middle ages, and finally peaceful senior lives. They were always dressed in custom made cheongsams and lovely heels, scented with alluring perfumes, and decorated with inherited jewelry.

They were the symbols of elegance, having aged gracefully like the wine. They were low-key and mysterious, but truly breathtaking when they chose to display their beauties to the world. When they were brought up in later conversations by those who knew them, their favourite jewelry pieces were often mentioned: “She always wore her pearl necklace,” or “She was a fan of that jadeite bracelet.”

Antique jewelry are loved for the fine quality of their materials, the classic designs, and the exquisite artisanships. “Jewelry is my best friend, especially during the chaotic times;” War was not an enjoyable memory for those born into nobility, “they pleased me - I could exchange them for currency when I needed them the most.”

OGP members adore jewelry for their unchanging value.

Mr. Shu (descendant of a Manchu nobility) is a vehicle business owner. He states that he was inspired to start collecting antique jewelry when he coincidentally opened an inconspicuous wooden box left to him by his grandfather. The box was filled with old artifacts. Mr. Shu sold only one jewelry from that box, and that wealth lasted his entire lifetime.

Antique jewelry were passed from generation to generation. They hold the values and memories of the past.
