Date: 2022-11-26 through 2022-12-18 Venue: Liu Haisu Art Museum Address: H3, H4, Liu Haisu Art Museum, 1609 Yan'an Rd West, Changning District, Shanghai, China About Artists Zhang Leiping received her degree from the Shanghai Theatre Academy's Department of Dance and Art in 1968, and at the moment she works as a consultant for the Shanghai Artists Association, a painter for the Shanghai Chinese Painting Institute, a national-level artist, the deputy director of the Art Committee, a member of the China Artists Association, and a member of the Shanghai Federation of Literary and Art Circles. She served as the vice chairman of the fifth and sixth Shanghai Artists Associations as well as the vice president of the Shanghai Chinese Painting Institute. He Xi was born in Beijing in 1960, graduated from the China Academy of Art in 1987, and currently resides in Shanghai. At the moment, he works as a painter at the Shanghai Chinese Painting Institute, is a nationally recognised artist, a member of the Chinese Artists Association, the executive director of the Shanghai Artists Association, the deputy director of the Chinese Painting Art Committee, a professor at the Shanghai Institute of Visual Arts, and a part-time professor and graduate advisor at the Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts of Shanghai University. Exhibition Description More than 20 paintings by Zhang Leiping and He Xi are on display in this series of exhibitions, "Contemporary Shanghai Style Masters Duo Exhibition Series - Zhang Leiping, He Xi" each of which is a brand-new piece produced by the artists this year. This time, it is easy to distinguish the two artists' styles, and both of them have altered the characteristics of their earlier representative style techniques, which is an innovation. At the same time, the universal and inclusive theme of "Shanghai/Sea" is matched by He Xi's "Sea Waves" and Zhang Leiping's "Sea Reef." The works' contrasting aesthetics and eye-catching imagery convey the artist's distinctive outlook on life.
