Service Description

Some of the most valuable jade items in the world have intricate designs created through the art of carving. The intricate depictions etched into the precious jadeite stones can only be created by artisans with exceptional skill. Carvers must respect the rarity and value of the jade on which they work, taking great care not to waste any of it. Those who act hastily and do not thoroughly examine the stone before carving risk misusing this precious material. Jade's beauty is unparalleled, with its semi-translucent appearance and swirls of colour that appear to float deep within the stone. Holding a jade carving up to the light is like peering into another world. These pieces combine traditional decorative styles with some modern designs. Carving jade has been practised throughout history, and while modern tools allow for more complex designs, carving remains an intensely painstaking and exacting art form today. The event "Beautiful Jade - The First Shanghai Arts and Crafts Industry Jade Carving Art Exhibition" is significant in Shanghai's Jade Carving Industry. The Shanghai Arts and Crafts Industry Association and the Shanghai Arts and Crafts Museum hosted it. The exhibition aims to showcase younger jade carving artists while also exploring the new Shanghai arts and crafts sales model for increased variety and improved quality for the development of the Shanghai arts and crafts industry. Wang Jinzhong, Liu Hai, Gu Yibin, Yang Yong, Wu Zaofa, Zheng Shengshi, Lin Guohua, Ni Zhanyong, Xu Yundong, and Huang Hanyong are among the exhibitors. These jade carving works are both collectible and valuable investments.
