May 28, 2025

This June, Christie’s Paris presents a highly anticipated auction of Asian Art, featuring a remarkable array of rare porcelain, cloisonné enamels, jades, Buddhist sculptures, and classical paintings. Among the highlights is an exceptionally rare blue and white stem bowl bearing a Xuande mark, formerly in the collection of a French noble family. With its refined shape and vivid dragon motif, the piece holds significant historical and market value.

This sale gathers an outstanding selection of imperial Chinese ceramics from European private collections, including a Yongzheng period bowl painted in yellow, green, and iron-red with bat motifs. Also featured is an exquisite twelve-panel Coromandel screen from a private collection, vividly depicting General Guo Ziyi’s banquet scene and the Ten Views of West Lake. Additional highlights include a vivid ink painting of shrimp by Qi Baishi, two elegant portraits of court ladies by Lin Fengmian, and a rare 15th-century gilt-bronze Maitreya figure from Tibet.
