Service Description

Exhibition Dates: July 19, 2024 – August 17, 2025 Venue: First Floor Exhibition Hall, Shanghai Museum People's Square Branch Address: No. 201 Renmin Avenue, Shanghai, China In ancient Egypt, pyramids were not legends, but real “eternal houses.” Tutankhamun was not a myth, but a real boy pharaoh. Their voices, crossing time and space, will echo in Shanghai. With groundbreaking curatorial standards, the Shanghai Museum joins hands with the Supreme Council of Antiquities of Egypt to present an unprecedented cultural feast — At the Pinnacle of the Pyramid: Grand Exhibition of Ancient Egyptian Civilization. This is the first official collaboration between Chinese and Egyptian national museums and marks the largest and highest-level outbound Egyptian antiquities exhibition ever held in Asia. Hundreds of heavyweight artifacts spanning millennia — from temples and tombs to the tomb of Tutankhamun — step into our contemporary vision. This rare, world-class blockbuster exhibition features a magnificent display of golden masks, painted coffins, animal mummies, pyramid models, and the ruins of Saqqara. It is not only a complete narrative of ancient Egyptian civilization but also a cultural love letter written for Chinese audiences. Whether you are a history enthusiast, an Egyptophile, or simply curious about world civilizations, you should not miss this stunning glimpse from three thousand years ago! Note: - Opening hours are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Last admission at 4:00 PM. Advance reservation is required.
