Service Description

Exhibition Dates: November 8, 2025 – March 29, 2026 Venue: Level 4, Roloff Beny Gallery, Royal Ontario Museum Address: 100 Queen’s Park, Toronto, ON, Canada Event Descriptions Since its establishment in 1965, Wildlife Photographer of the Year has become the world’s longest-running and most prestigious nature photography competition. Organized by the Natural History Museum, the competition attracts tens of thousands of submissions each year from photographers around the globe. This year’s finalists and award-winning works will once again arrive in Toronto, where the Royal Ontario Museum presents 100 of the very best images. These photographs represent not only the pinnacle of technical mastery and aesthetic excellence, but also a profound reflection on biodiversity and ecological realities. From animal portraits and habitats to urban wildlife, underwater worlds, natural artistry, and documentary storytelling, each category captures rarely seen moments through precise composition and emotional depth. Of special note, the exhibition includes works by young photographers across three age categories, offering a global platform to the next generation of nature observers. More than a photography exhibition, it is a visual call to reconsider how we coexist with our planet. The competition champions ethical wildlife photography and truthful representation, respecting animals and their environments while reminding us—through beauty and impact—of the fragility of our world. For collectors and visual creators, this exhibition is an exceptional lesson in how images become testimony—where technique, patience, discernment, and values converge within a single frame. Tips: - Open Tuesday to Sunday, 10:00 AM – 5:30 PM. Closed Mondays. - A $9 special exhibition surcharge applies (free for ROM Members). - Visitors are encouraged to allow at least 1.5 hours for an immersive experience and may combine the visit with ROM’s permanent natural history galleries. - Please note: OGP may organize a group visit for members and enthusiasts; arrangements are subject to confirmation.
